Cashier

The Cashier is responsible for accurate billing, smooth guest checkouts, handling payments, and maintaining cash and POS discipline. This role is critical for guest experience, financial accuracy, and operational transparency.

• Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & PaymentsGenerate accurate bills using the POS system (Petpooja or equivalent)
• Handle cash, UPI, card, wallet, and voucher payments
• Ensure correct application of taxes, discounts, and offers
• Close bills promptly to avoid guest waiting time
• Cash Handling & ReconciliationMaintain cash drawer with 100% accuracy
• Perform shift-wise cash tally and end-of-day reconciliation
• Report shortages/excess immediately to the manager
• Follow SOPs for cash handover and safe storage
• Guest InteractionGreet guests politely during checkout
• Handle billing-related queries calmly and professionally
• Coordinate with service staff for corrections or clarifications
• Maintain a pleasant, welcoming tone at all times
• Coordination & CommunicationWork closely with servers, hosts, and managers
• Inform floor team about pending bills or payment delays
• Escalate system issues, disputes, or unusual situations appropriately
• Compliance & DisciplineFollow POS, billing, and audit SOPs strictly
• Ensure no manual billing or unauthorized changes
• Maintain confidentiality of sales data and guest information
• Adhere to grooming, punctuality, and hygiene standards
• Skills & RequirementsBasic computer and POS knowledge (training can be provided)
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Clear communication skills (English + local language preferred)
• Calm under pressure during peak hours
• Honest, responsible, and process-oriented
• Experience & QualificationExperience: 0–2 years preferred (Freshers can be trained)
• Education: Minimum 10+2
• Prior restaurant or retail cashier experience is a plus
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Billing accuracy (zero errors target)
• Cash reconciliation accuracy
• Speed of billing during peak hours
• Guest feedback related to checkout experience
• SOP adherence
