Desktop Support Engineer

1. End-User Technical Support

Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.

Resolve day-to-day hardware and software issues faced by employees.

2. System Installation & Configuration

Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Set up and maintain standard applications, tools, and updates.

3. Network & Connectivity Support

Diagnose and fix network-related issues including LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity.

Assist users with basic network access and troubleshooting.

4. User Account & Access Management

Support email setup, user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.

Assist with onboarding/offboarding IT activities.

5. Maintenance & Security Updates

Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and security patching.

Ensure systems are running efficiently and securely.

6. Incident Documentation & Ticketing

Log, track, and update support requests in the ticketing system.

Maintain accurate records of issues and resolutions.

7. Escalation & Team Coordination

Coordinate with internal IT teams or vendors for complex or escalated issues.

Support hardware replacements and software upgrades.

8. IT Security & Compliance

Ensure adherence to IT security policies and data protection standards.

Promote safe computing practices among users.

9. Remote & On-Site Support

Provide both remote and on-site technical assistance as required.

Respond promptly to critical support needs.

10. Asset & Inventory Management

Maintain IT asset inventory including hardware and software licenses.

Track allocation, usage, and lifecycle of IT equipment.
