Job Description – Electrical Technician- Hotel CAG Pride, Coimbatore

Position: Electrical TechnicianDepartment: Engineering / MaintenanceExperience Required: 3–5 Years (Hotel Industry Mandatory)Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical or relevant fieldJob SummaryThe Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all electrical systems, equipment, and installations within the hotel. The role ensures smooth operations, safety compliance, and uninterrupted services for guests and internal departments.

• Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Maintenance & RepairsPerform routine maintenance of electrical systems including lighting, wiring, DB panels, UPS, control panels, and power distribution.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, short circuits, tripping, fused wiring, and equipment breakdowns.
• Attend daily complaints raised by guest rooms, kitchen, restaurants, banquet halls, and other hotel departments.
• 2. Equipment HandlingMaintain and troubleshoot electrical components of:

• HVAC systems
• Pumps and motors
• DG sets
• Chillers & AHUs
• Kitchen equipment
• Laundry equipment
• Ensure proper functioning of emergency lighting and backup power systems.
• 3. Preventive MaintenanceConduct and record preventive maintenance (PM) as per schedule for all electrical fixtures and equipment.
• Coordinate with the Engineering Supervisor or Maintenance Manager for planned shutdowns and maintenance.
• 4. Safety & ComplianceEnsure all electrical installations comply with hotel safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures and maintain hazard-free work environments.
• Report unsafe practices, electrical hazards, or required upgrades immediately.
• 5. Documentation & ReportingMaintain logs of all electrical work, breakdowns, PM checklists, and inventory usage.
• Assist in preparing maintenance reports and tracking spare parts consumption.
• 6. Team Support & CoordinationCoordinate with the housekeeping, front office, laundry, kitchen, and banquet teams for electrical requirements.
• Assist engineering team members during major repairs, events, or emergencies.
• Support hotel operations during functions, events, and VIP visits.
• 7. Guest ExperienceAttend guest-room electrical complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure minimal downtime and provide quick solutions without disturbing guests.
• Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of hotel electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot accurately and work under pressure.
• Good understanding of safety protocols and statutory compliance.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to work in shifts (rotational), weekends, and during high-occupancy periods.
