Front-end Web Developer (React.js & Firebase)

Part-time developer needed to maintain and improve an existing app system built on a no-code front end plus a custom backend. Work focuses on keeping production stable, fixing bugs, and shipping small improvements.

Core responsibilities

• Maintain a Firebase backend:
• Firestore data model maintenance and data integrity checks
• Cloud Functions (Node.js) for HTTP endpoints, webhook handlers, and background jobs
• Scheduled functions (cron style) for automation and queued processing
• Firebase Hosting deployments and environment configuration
• Basic monitoring/logging improvements and incident debugging
• Integrations:
• Twilio SMS (send pipeline, delivery status callbacks, inbound message webhooks, error handling, retries)
• Webhook based integrations (validate payloads, auth/signature checks, idempotency, rate limits)
• Frontend:
• Maintain a small React app (viewer/dashboard style)
• Fix UI bugs, data loading issues, routing, and deployment builds
• Operations and quality:
• Safe releases (staging vs production mindset, rollbacks)
• Write clear notes for changes and basic documentation
• Improve performance and reliability (timeouts, retries, queue patterns)

Tech stack

• Firebase: Firestore, Cloud Functions, Hosting (and optionally Auth)
• Node.js/JavaScript (TypeScript is a plus)
• React (SPA routing, API calls, deployment builds)
• Twilio: Programmable SMS, webhooks, delivery status
• Webhooks/APIs: REST, JSON, auth tokens, signature verification
• Git/GitHub workflow
