Manager – Waste Water Treatment (STP, ETP, RO)

Job Summary

The O&M Manager will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing the overall operations and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP/STP/ETP/RO). This role ensures efficient plant performance, regulatory compliance, safety, and timely reporting while leading and guiding the plant operations team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations of STP/ETP/WTP systems to ensure smooth functioning.
• Monitor plant parameters, equipment performance, and overall treatment efficiency.
• Review daily logs, data sheets, and compliance reports.
• Ensure adherence to all pollution control norms and discharge standards.

2. Maintenance Management

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for pumps, blowers, motors, panels, and other WWTP equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and service teams for equipment repairs.
• Maintain asset records, AMC schedules, and breakdown reports.

3. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and manage operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Provide training on plant operations, safety, and SOPs.
• Assign tasks and ensure manpower availability for all shifts.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports.
• Maintain records for inventory, chemical consumption, MLSS, sludge management, and energy usage.
• Report operational issues and improvement suggestions to management.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all activities follow safety protocols, PPE usage, and plant hygiene standards.
• Coordinate for statutory inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with PCB norms and environmental guidelines.

6. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as single point of contact for client communication at sites.
• Handle escalations, provide solutions, and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Oversee contract compliance and service delivery performance.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (ASP, SBR, MBBR, UF, RO, etc.).
• Expertise in plant operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, logs, and reporting tools.
