Operations Manager

The Operations & Supply Chain Manager at Ardent Engineering plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless execution from order receipt to on-time delivery. This person will manage suppliers, oversee quality checks, coordinate logistics & documentation, and work closely with leadership to serve customer expectations reliably and profitably. This role is ideal for someone with strong operations discipline, supplier management experience, and a practical understanding of manufacturing workflows - especially in machining, fabrication, and export and domestic supply.

Key Duties:

• Order Fulfillment & Execution - Partner with production, engineering, and QA teams to ensure parts are manufactured to drawing & specifications.
• Supplier & Vendor Management - Develop, qualify, and manage relationships with subcontractors (finishers, plating, heat treat, outsources). Monitor performance (quality, delivery, cost) and escalate proactively. Negotiate terms, coordinate releases and forecast planning with key vendors.
• Logistics & Export Coordination - Manage shipping, freight forwarders, customs documentation, and export compliance. Prepare/export documentation (packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, etc.). Coordinate export packaging, labeling, and compliance with buyer requirements.
• Quality Assurance & Control - Ensure incoming and outgoing parts meet quality standards. Work with QA to close internal rejects, vendor rework, and customer feedback loops.
• Project & Communication Management - Serve as a key point of contact between customers, production, quality, and management.

Qualifications:

• 3–8 years in manufacturing operations/supply chain
• Experience with vendor management
• Strong communication and project coordination skills
• Preferred - prior experience in industries such as fabrication, machining, foundry, etc.
