Production Manager

Production managers ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. Responsibilities of the job include: 

• planning and organising production schedules
• assessing project and resource requirements 
• estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers 
• ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
• determining quality control standards
• overseeing production processes 
• renegotiating timescales or schedules as necessary 
• selecting, ordering and purchasing materials 
• organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment 
• liaising with buyers and marketing and sales staff
• supervising and managing the work of junior staff 
• organising relevant training sessions.
• Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and control production activities to meet output targets and delivery deadlines.
• Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as necessary to ensure on-time delivery.
• Supervise and lead production staff, including assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and machinery are properly maintained and in good working order.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure finished products meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations across the production floor.
• Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in the production process; implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Maintain accurate production records and generate reports for senior management.
• Manage production budgets and control costs related to labor, materials, and downtime.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Inventory teams to ensure adequate raw material availability.
