Production Manager

Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Production Manager to plan, coordinate, and control sheet metal manufacturing operations including cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, and assembly to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost efficiency.

• Key Responsibilities🔹 Production Planning & ControlPlan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
• Ensure on-time completion of production targets as per sales orders
• Coordinate with design, stores, and dispatch teams
• 🔹 Shop Floor ManagementSupervise laser / plasma cutting, bending, punching, welding, and powder coating operations
• Optimize machine utilization and manpower productivity
• Ensure smooth material flow across all processes
• 🔹 Quality & Process ControlImplement and maintain quality standards and SOPs
• Reduce rework, rejection, and scrap levels
• Coordinate with QC team for inspection and corrective actions
• 🔹 Maintenance & SafetyEnsure preventive maintenance of machines and tools
• Enforce safety norms and 5S practices on the shop floor
• Ensure compliance with statutory and internal safety requirements
• 🔹 Manpower ManagementManage operators, supervisors, and contract labor
• Plan shift allocation, overtime, and training needs
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline
• 🔹 Cost Control & Continuous ImprovementControl production costs and minimize wastage
• Implement lean manufacturing / Kaizen initiatives
• Improve efficiency through process improvements and automation
• 🔹 Reporting & CoordinationPrepare daily production reports and MIS
• Coordinate with management for production review meetings
• Support audits and customer inspections
• Required SkillsStrong knowledge of sheet metal processes
• (Laser cutting, CNC bending, punching, welding, powder coating)
• Experience in production planning, manpower handling, and shop floor control
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Knowledge of ISO / 5S / Lean Manufacturing
• Good leadership and communication skills
• QualificationsDiploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical / Production Engineering
• Proven experience in sheet metal or fabrication industry
