Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities in the sheet metal shop, ensuring smooth operations, meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and managing manpower effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily production activities in sheet metal fabrication (cutting, bending, punching, welding, and assembly)
• Plan and allocate work to operators based on production schedules
• Ensure production targets are met with optimum utilization of manpower and machines
• Monitor quality of fabricated parts as per drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with design, QC, stores, and maintenance teams for smooth production flow
• Ensure proper usage of machines such as shearing, press brake, laser cutting, and power press
• Maintain production records, shift reports, and material consumption data
• Ensure adherence to safety norms and housekeeping (5S) in the shop floor
• Reduce material wastage and improve productivity
• Handle shop-floor issues, manpower discipline, and training of operators
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Production, or Sheet Metal Engineering
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes and shop-floor operations
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Leadership and team-handling skills
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, production reports)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in fabrication of industrial equipment, enclosures, or ducting
• Knowledge of welding methods (MIG/TIG/ARC)
• Exposure to ISO / quality systems
