Role: Sales Manager — Key ResponsibilitiesJob Title: Sales Manager – Water Treatment / Purification Systems

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu (with possible travel to client sites)

Reporting to: Head of Sales / Managing Director

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for water treatment products (RO purifiers, softeners, STP, industrial RO, etc.).
  • Identify and approach potential clients: residential projects, commercial buildings, industries requiring water treatment.
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of leads: site visits, proposals, quotes, negotiations.
  • Work with engineering team to tailor solutions per customer’s water quality and usage needs.
  • Coordinate with operations / installation teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to deployment.
  • Achieve monthly / quarterly sales targets (revenue, volume, new clients).
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including after-sales / service upselling.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and new water-technology innovations.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on customer needs or challenges.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets.

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical / Knowledge Skills:

  • Good understanding of water treatment technologies: RO, UV, nano-filtration, water softeners, STP, etc. (or ability to learn quickly).
  • Ability to read and understand water quality reports, technical specifications.
  • Experience in B2B (industrial / commercial) sales is a plus.
  • Familiar with project-based sales cycles.

Sales / Business Skills:

  • Proven sales track record (3–8 years ideally) in technical sales or solution selling.
  • Excellent negotiation, proposal writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong pipeline management and CRM experience.

Soft Skills:

  • Leadership and team coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal + written).
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites / industrial locations.

Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (Engineering / Business / Science preferred).
  • MBA or equivalent experience is a plus but not mandatory.


Compensation Structure (Suggested)Given it's a technical solution-selling role, the compensation should reflect both base and performance:

  • Base Salary: Competitive for Coimbatore / water-treatment sales manager role
  • Variable Pay: Commission or bonus on sales (targets for revenue, volume, new clients)
  • Incentives: Additional rewards for large projects, recurring service contracts
  • Perks: Travel allowance, mobile, client entertainment budget
