Senior Interior Designer 3D & 2D

Position: Senior Interior Designer

Department: Design

Reporting To: Managing Director / Project Manager

Location: Office

1. Objective

To assist the design team in developing creative, functional, and practical interior design solutions that align with the firm’s design philosophy and client requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Design Development

1. Assist in conceptualizing interior design ideas under the guidance of the Senior Designer.
2. Prepare design mood boards, material palettes, and concept presentations.
3. Develop 2D drawings – layouts, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, etc.
4. Support in creating 3D models, visualizations, and presentation renders.
5. Ensure all designs comply with project requirements, space utilization, and ergonomic standards.

B. Documentation & Drawings

1. Prepare detailed working drawings for execution.
2. Maintain drawing consistency and layer standards as per company CAD standards.
3. Coordinate with the drafting team and vendors for technical detailing.
4. Update drawings based on design changes or client feedback.

C. Material Coordination

1. Source and organize samples of materials, finishes, and furnishings.
2. Maintain the material library and update it regularly.
3. Assist in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and material specifications.
4. Coordinate with vendors/suppliers for material availability and pricing.

 D. Site Coordination

1. Conduct regular site visits with the Senior Designer or Project Manager.
2. Record site conditions, take measurements, and update drawings accordingly.
3. Assist in monitoring on-site execution to ensure design intent is maintained.
4. Report site issues promptly to the Senior Designer.

E. Client & Team Communication

1. Attend design discussions, client meetings, and internal review sessions.
2. Take meeting notes and circulate minutes of meetings when required.
3. Present design concepts or revisions under supervision.

F. Quality & Compliance

1. Ensure all design deliverables meet firm standards and quality expectations.
2. Follow the office’s file naming, documentation, and drawing protocols.
3. Adhere to timelines and assist in maintaining project schedules.

3. Tools & Software

Proficiency expected in:

• AutoCAD – for 2D drawings
• SketchUp / 3ds Max / Enscape / Lumion – for 3D visualization
• Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign – for presentation boards
• MS Office  – for documentation and coordination

4. Reporting & Review

• Weekly review with Senior Designer / Design Head.
• Submit task progress reports and site visit notes.
• Participate in post-project review for learning outcomes.

5. Professional Conduct

• Maintain confidentiality of design data and client information.
• Follow office timing, dress code, and communication etiquette.
• Display initiative, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
• Represent the firm professionally at all times.
