Job Title: Manual Software Tester

Location: Coimbatore

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Manual Software Tester to join our Product Development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through meticulous manual testing, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Design:Analyze software requirements, user stories, and design specifications to create comprehensive and effective test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Identify test data requirements and prepare test environments.
• Test Execution:Execute manual test cases thoroughly and systematically, documenting results accurately.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla), providing clear and concise steps to reproduce the issues.
• Defect Management:Collaborate with developers to understand and troubleshoot defects, ensuring proper resolution.
• Verify bug fixes and perform retesting to confirm issues are resolved.
• Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, and other QA team members to understand project requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and other agile ceremonies as required.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and challenges effectively to stakeholders.
• Documentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation, including test cases, test reports, and defect logs.
• Generate test execution reports and provide summaries of testing efforts.
• Continuous Improvement:Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Stay updated with industry best practices in software testing and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience: At least 6 months of experience in manual software testing.
• Technical Skills:Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
• Experience with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, UAT, etc.).
• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Redmine, Trello).
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, qTest) is a plus.
• Basic understanding of databases (SQL queries) and API testing concepts is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Soft Skills:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong commitment to quality and a passion for finding defects.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Certification in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level).
• Experience with performance testing, security testing, or usability testing.
• Exposure to automation testing concepts or tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) is a significant plus, demonstrating a willingness to grow.
• Experience in [specific industry, e.g., FinTech, Healthcare, E-commerce] is a plus.
