Position: Upholsterer - Sofa Refurbishment Specialist

Summary: A skilled upholsterer focused on transforming old and worn sofas into like-new or custom-designed pieces. This role requires expertise in disassembly, repair, and reupholstery to restore or enhance the function, comfort, and aesthetics of residential and commercial seating.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess sofa frames, springs, and padding to determine the necessary repairs and materials.
• Perform full stripping, repair, and rebuilding of sofa frames and internal structures (e.g., webbing, springs).
• Measure, cut, and fit new foam, batting, and fabric to precise specifications.
• Skillfully install new upholstery, creating tight, smooth finishes and expert tailoring.
• Collaborate with clients to select fabrics and styles, providing expert advice on durability and design.
• Operate and maintain upholstery tools and equipment (e.g., staple guns, mallets, sewing machines).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in furniture upholstery, specifically with sofas and armchairs.
• Proficiency in frame repair, spring tying, and fabric pattern cutting.
• Strong knowledge of upholstery materials, fabrics, and techniques.
• Keen eye for detail, design, and quality craftsmanship.
• Physical stamina to handle heavy furniture and materials.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on projects.
