Job Description:

We are seeking a professional and empathetic Debt Collection Agent to join our Agencies collections team. In this role, you will be responsible for contacting customers with overdue loans or credit card payments, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships. You will work closely with internal departments to develop effective debt recovery strategies and ensure compliance with relevant legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate contact with customers via phone, email, or letters to discuss outstanding debts and payment options.
• Negotiate flexible repayment plans tailored to customers’ financial situations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and payment agreements.
• Collaborate with Accounts, Sales, and Legal teams to optimize collection efforts.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and debt collection laws.
• Follow up regularly to monitor payment progress and resolve disputes.
• Escalate cases for legal action or repossession when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in debt collection, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of debt collection laws and banking compliance standards.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with professionalism and tact.
• Proficiency in debt collection software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
