Mechanical Design Engineer

Core Roles & Responsibilities

• Conceptual Design: Translating client needs and project briefs into innovative design concepts through brainstorming and sketching.
• CAD Modeling: Using advanced software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA to create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings.
• Engineering Analysis: Performing mathematical modeling and simulations, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to test stress, heat transfer, and fluid flow before physical builds.
• Prototyping & Testing: Developing physical or virtual prototypes and conducting rigorous testing to validate performance and identify failure modes.
• Material Selection: Researching and choosing optimal materials based on strength, weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Ensuring designs are easy and affordable to produce by collaborating with manufacturing teams and suppliers.
• Technical Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, including Bills of Materials (BOM), design manuals, and compliance reports.

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), physics, and advanced mathematics (calculus/statistics).
