Job Description

An EDC/POS Sales job involves selling electronic data capture (card swipe/payment) machines to businesses (merchants) by finding leads, demonstrating features, explaining benefits (like faster payments), closing deals, and ensuring setup, focusing heavily on merchant acquisition, relationship building, and achieving sales targets in a specific territory, often requiring field sales skills and understanding of fintech solutions. Roles range from Field Executive (acquisition) to Team Leader (managing a sales force, strategy, and growth). 

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Sales: Identify potential merchants (retail, hospitality), generate leads, demonstrate EDC/POS machine features, explain benefits, and convert them into customers.

Merchant Relationship Management: Build strong ties with merchants, understand their payment needs, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.

Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales goals.

Product Knowledge: Educate merchants on swipe machines, payment solutions, and new tech.

Operations Coordination: Work with operations for device installation, activation, and smooth onboarding.

Market Feedback: Gather insights from merchants to improve products and services. 

Common Skills & Requirements

Sales Experience: Proven experience in field sales, fintech, or distribution sales (EDC/POS) is often required.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, self-motivation, relationship-building, and problem-solving.

Technical Understanding: Basic grasp of payment technology and user experience.

Logistics: Often requires a 2-wheeler for field visits.
