Job Description:

The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain will be responsible for managing material planning, procurement coordination, and ensuring first time right & timely availability of raw materials required for production. The role demands a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, Vendor management CAPA and ERP systems such as SAP.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manufacturing & Process Understanding:

• Strong understanding of machining operations such as Lathe, Milling, and Grinding.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams for process optimization.

2. Hands-on Experience in Measuring Instruments:

• Skilled in using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Slip Gauge, and other precision measuring tools.
• Ensure quality checks and dimensional accuracy of manufactured components.

3. Material Planning & Scheduling:

• Prepare and monitor Material Requirement Plans (MRP).
• Ensure timely procurement and issue of materials for production.

4. Procurement & Inventory Management:

• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments for material purchase.
• Manage inventory levels, stock movements, and maintain records in SAP.
• Ensure adherence to lead times and minimize stock shortages or excess.

5. ERP / SAP Exposure:

• Proficient in SAP MM/PP\QM modules for material movement, purchase orders, and reporting.
• Generate and analyze MIS reports related to inventory and consumption.

6. Coordination & Reporting:

• Liaise with vendors, production, and stores departments.
• Prepare daily and weekly status reports for management review.

• Hands-on experience in precision measuring instruments
• Strong analytical and coordination skills
• SAP (MM/PP module) proficiency
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities
