Job Title: Cutting, Bending & Laser Machine Operator

Department: Production / Fabrication

Location: Factory / Workshop

Experience Required: 2–5 years (or as per your requirement)

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Head

Job Summary:

The Cutting, Bending & Laser Operator is responsible for operating sheet metal processing machines such as CNC Laser Cutting Machines, Press Brake/Bending Machines, and Shearing Machines. The role includes handling daily production tasks, maintaining quality standards, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring smooth workflow in the fabrication unit.

Key Responsibilities:

Laser Cutting Operations

• Operate CNC Laser Cutting Machine (Fiber/CO₂ types).
• Upload nesting programs and adjust machine parameters as required.
• Ensure accurate cutting of sheet metal components as per drawings.
• Inspect cut parts for dimensions, finish quality, and defects.

Bending / Press Brake Operations

• Operate CNC/Manual Press Brake Machine for bending operations.
• Set tools, dies, and punches according to job requirements.
• Read and interpret bending drawings, angles, and tolerances.
• Ensure proper alignment, angle accuracy, and finish quality.

Cutting / Shearing Operations

• Operate shearing/cutting machines for straight-cut sheet metal.
• Ensure measurements and dimensions match the required specifications.
• Maintain safety and quality standards during operations.

Production & Quality

• Read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and material details.
• Perform daily machine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Ensure timely completion of production orders.
• Maintain material usage records and minimize wastage.
• Work with the quality team to ensure all parts meet standards.

Safety & Maintenance

• Follow all safety protocols while operating machines.
• Report machine breakdowns or abnormalities immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, or related field.
• Experience operating Laser Cutting & Bending machines (mandatory).
• Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of machine parameters, material thickness, and tools.
• Basic computer knowledge (for nesting programs, machine interface).
