Kitchen Helper

Kitchen Helpers generally support the Chef and Cooks who

prepare an establishment’s food. By assisting the trained

Culinary Staff, dishes can be prepared and served quickly. They

may also help the Waitstaff facilitate fast service and help

ensure guest satisfaction.

Kitchen Helper responsibilities may include:

 Unloading and stocking vendor supplies

 Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, such as smaller kitchen

appliances, utensils and cutting boards

 Washing, cutting, weighing, mixing and pre-portioning

ingredients

 Restocking ingredients or supplies to maintain par levels

 Assisting in the dish area with cleaning, drying and

organizing dishes

 Refilling condiment containers and utensil bins, polishing

glassware and folding napkins

 Packing to-go orders and leftovers

 Emptying garbage containers throughout the shift

Skills:-

• Excellent multitasking ability to assist several other kitchen

staff positions

• Familiarity with common kitchen utensils and commercial

equipment

• Knowledge of best practices for kitchen safety and sanitation,

including cross-contamination prevention or the three-sink

dishwashing method

• Basic kitchen skills, such as experience chopping, dicing,

frying, following a recipe and measuring ingredients accurately

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
