Role Overview

As a Fashion Merchandiser cum Designer, you will be the eye and soul behind the TrueBrands India collection. Your primary mission will be to ensure our inventory is fashion-forward, relevant to our audience, and seasonally appropriate. You will blend creative trend-spotting with sharp merchandising analysis to curate collections and guide brand onboarding, directly influencing the appeal and performance of our marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will be at the intersection of fashion research and strategic inventory selection, ensuring the TrueBrands India collection is relevant, desirable, and timely.

1. Trend Forecasting and Seasonal Planning

Conduct deep-dive trend spotting in the clothing and apparel space to identify emerging styles and silhouettes.

Study upcoming season mood boards and determine and suggest optimal colour palettes for platform onboarding.

Work on the type of garments and collections to be onboarded based on seasonal forecasts, ensuring the platform stays fresh.

2. Audience-Centric Collection Curation

Analyse and suggest designs and collections that align with current trends and are highly relevant to our target audience.

Suggest designs and collections that specifically cater to the proven taste and preference of our current/ongoing customer base.

Work to enhance the collections at TrueBrands, making them more relevant to our audiences and ensuring the right collection is available at the right time.

3. Inventory Vetting and Sourcing Strategy

Accordingly, shortlist brands dealing in the identified garment types and colour palettes, or with availability of similar collections, to be approached for onboarding.

Thoroughly analyse the available stock once it is received from an onboarded brand to determine which specific clothing types are per our requirements, audience, customer base, and upcoming trends for platform listing.

Go through available collections of suppliers that can be onboarded on our platform in small lots as per our requirements (Audience, customer base, trends, season).

Share trends, category gaps, or competitor insights to improve assortment and platform performance.

4. Internal Coordination:

Work closely with the founder and Business Development team to communicate collection needs and ensure a cohesive sourcing and listing strategy.
