Restaurant Captain

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant service operations.

• Lead, guide, and motivate service staff during shifts.

• Ensure proper table setup, cleanliness, and service standards.

• Take and manage guest orders; coordinate with kitchen and bar.

• Handle shift opening and closing procedures.

• Support billing, cash handling, and POS operations.

Guest Relations & Guest Feedback:

• Warmly welcome guests and ensure a pleasant dining experience.

• Build strong guest relationships to encourage repeat visits.

• Interact with guests during service to understand their needs.

• Collect guest feedback directly and through feedback forms/digital platforms.

• Address guest complaints politely and resolve issues promptly.

• Share guest feedback with management and team for service improvement.

• Ensure special guest requests and preferences are properly handled.

Sales & Service Excellence:

• Upsell menu items and promote ongoing offers.

• Support sales targets through suggestive selling.

• Ensure high service quality to enhance guest satisfaction.

Training & Team Handling:

• Train new staff on service etiquette and SOPs.

• Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, and performance.

• Maintain discipline and positive work culture on the floor.

Compliance & Standards:

• Follow hygiene, safety, and company SOPs.

• Ensure compliance with food safety and service guidelines.

Skills & Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong guest handling and complaint management ability.

• Leadership and team-handling skills.

• Prior experience as Captain / Senior Steward preferred.
