Job Summary:

The Senior Steward is responsible for supervising stewarding staff, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth operations in dishwashing and back-of-house areas. This role supports kitchen and service teams by ensuring equipment, crockery, and cutlery are clean and available at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide stewarding team members

• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment

• Maintain hygiene standards as per company and food safety policies

• Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and request replenishment

• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for smooth operations

• Train new stewards on SOPs and safety procedures

• Ensure waste management and segregation is followed

• Handle breakages and report damages

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage, and back areas

• Ensure proper use of chemicals and cleaning equipment

• Prepare duty rosters and manage attendance

• Assist during peak hours and special events

Requirements & Skills:

• Minimum 2–4 years experience in stewarding

• Good leadership and team handling skills

• Knowledge of hygiene & safety standards

• Physically fit and able to work long hours

• Basic English communication skills

• Willing to work shifts

Preferred Qualification:

• High school diploma

• Hotel Management certificate (optional)
