Job Description

The Inventory & Operations Manager is responsible for end-to-end control of material sourcing, inventory management, factory stock handling at Jagatpura, coordination of deliveries to project sites, and close liaison with the office team to ensure smooth project execution. The role is critical to maintaining material availability, minimizing stock losses, and supporting timely solar project completion.​


  • Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Management

  • Factory & StoresMaintain accurate stock levels of all raw materials, mounting structures, accessories, cables, and hardware across the Jagatpura factory and stores.
  • Implement and manage perpetual inventory systems, regular cycle counts, and monthly/quarterly physical stock audits.
  • Define and monitor minimum/reorder levels for fast-moving and critical items to avoid stock-outs and project delays.
  • Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies, pilferage, damage, or shrinkage and implement corrective actions.

2. Sourcing & Vendor Coordination

  • Identify and develop reliable vendors for steel, fasteners, cables, BOS items, and logistics in line with quality and cost requirements.
  • Request and compare quotations, negotiate prices, credit terms, and delivery timelines to optimize project margins.
  • Raise and track purchase orders, follow up for on-time delivery, and coordinate with accounts for GRN and vendor payments documentation.
  • Maintain a database of approved vendors, rate contracts, and alternative suppliers for critical items.

3. Factory Handling

  • Jagatpura Facility Oversee material inward (GRN), storage, binning, tagging, and issue processes within the Jagatpura factory.​
  • Coordinate closely with fabrication teams to ensure raw material availability as per production plans.
  • Implement 5S and basic warehouse management best practices for safety, accessibility, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and handling of heavy sections, finished structures, and sensitive components.

4. Deliveries & Logistics to Sites

  • Review material indents/material request notes from site teams and plan consolidated dispatches.​
  • Prepare picking lists, delivery challans, and loading plans for vehicles going from factory/stores to sites.
  • Coordinate with transporters, drivers, and site engineers to ensure timely and complete deliveries, including reverse logistics of excess/returnable material.
  • Track and document all dispatches, ensure PODs (proof of delivery) are collected and filed, and monitor logistics costs.

5. Office & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with project managers, design, and sales teams to understand upcoming project pipelines and material forecasts.​
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings to present stock positions, pending POs, and delivery schedules.
  • Provide the office team with timely data on material availability, lead times, and constraints so that commitments to customers are realistic.
  • Coordinate with accounts for vendor bills, GRN matching, and inventory valuation inputs.

6. Systems, Processes & Reporting

  • Implement and maintain simple but robust inventory tracking systems (Excel/ERP/other tools) with item codes, locations, and batch/heat numbers where relevant.
  • Generate regular MIS reports: stock status, slow/non-moving items, stock ageing, stock variance, and purchase vs consumption reports.
  • Continuously refine SOPs for material request, issue, return, scrap handling, and stock audits.
  • Support management in building scalable processes as volumes and product lines increase.

7. Compliance, Safety & Housekeeping

  • Ensure proper documentation for all inward/outward material movements, including e-way bills where required.
  • Enforce safe loading/unloading and material handling practices at the factory and during dispatch.
  • Coordinate disposal of scrap and rejected material in line with company policy and environmental norms.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong inventory management and basic supply chain understanding.
  • Experience with factory/store operations, preferably in manufacturing, EPC, or construction.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic inventory/ERP tools.
  • Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills to work between factory, office, and site teams.
  • Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ownership mindset.
