JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SR. PURCHASE MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Management:
• Oversee and manage the purchasing process for all interior design projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers specializing in interior design materials and products.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure the best value for the company and clients.
• Prepare and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and align with project requirements.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor inventory levels of key materials and supplies, ensuring that products are available when needed while avoiding overstocking.
• Coordinate with project teams to assess future needs for supplies and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
• Vendor Management:
• Identify new suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
• Evaluate and approve suppliers based on product quality, delivery timelines, and customer service.
• Maintain effective communication with vendors to ensure issues such as delays, stockouts, or quality concerns are swiftly addressed.
• Collaboration with Interior Design Team:
• Work closely with interior designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, deadlines, and design concepts.
• Advise on material choices, finishes, and product options that align with design specifications and budget constraints.
• Market Research and Trend Analysis:
• Stay updated on the latest trends in interior design and procurement best practices.
• Research emerging materials, furniture, and design innovations that could improve project outcomes or reduce costs.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure that purchased goods meet quality standards and specifications.
• Address any issues or defects in purchased items and coordinate with suppliers for returns or replacements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 3-5 years specifically within the interior design industry.
• Strong knowledge of interior design products, materials, and vendors.
• Proven experience managing large-scale purchasing projects, including negotiation, vendor management, and budget control.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with project management tools or software.
• Existing relationships with a network of reliable interior design suppliers.
