TGT English

Role PurposeThe TGT (English) is responsible for teaching English language and literature to Classes VI–X, developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in accordance with the CBSE curriculum, while fostering a love for language and literature.

• Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching ResponsibilitiesTeach English to Classes VI–X as per CBSE syllabus
• Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, and teaching materials
• Deliver interactive lessons using activity-based and learner-centred methods
• Develop students’ grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills
• Encourage reading habits and literary appreciation
• Assessment & EvaluationDesign and conduct periodic assessments, unit tests, and examinations
• Evaluate answer scripts and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate academic records and student progress reports
• Prepare students for internal and board-pattern assessments (Class X)
• Student Development & SupportIdentify learning gaps and provide remedial and enrichment support
• Mentor students in communication skills and personality development
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
• Curriculum & Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in curriculum planning and departmental activities
• Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, assessment patterns, and pedagogy
• Attend trainings, workshops, and professional development programs
• Administrative & School ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
• Assist in examinations, school events, and co-curricular activities
• Perform additional duties assigned by school management
• QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in English
• B.Ed. (mandatory as per CBSE norms)
• CTET qualification (preferred / as applicable)
• Skills & CompetenciesStrong command over spoken and written English
• Effective classroom management and student engagement skills
• Proficiency in ICT tools and smart classroom teaching
