TGT Sanskrit

The TGT (Sanskrit) is responsible for teaching Sanskrit to Classes VI–X, developing students’ understanding of the language, grammar, literature, and cultural heritage in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.

• Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching ResponsibilitiesTeach Sanskrit to Classes VI–X as per CBSE syllabus
• Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, and teaching–learning materials
• Deliver engaging lessons using activity-based and learner-centred methods
• Develop students’ skills in Sanskrit grammar (Vyakarana), reading, writing, and translation
• Promote appreciation of Sanskrit literature, shlokas, and Indian cultural values
• Assessment & EvaluationPlan and conduct periodic assessments, unit tests, and examinations
• Evaluate answer scripts and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Maintain accurate academic records and student progress reports
• Prepare students for internal assessments and CBSE Class X board-pattern exams
• Student Development & SupportIdentify learning gaps and provide remedial teaching and enrichment activities
• Encourage correct pronunciation, recitation, and comprehension
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
• Curriculum & Professional ResponsibilitiesParticipate in curriculum planning and departmental meetings
• Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, assessment patterns, and syllabus changes
• Attend trainings, workshops, and professional development programs
• Administrative & School ResponsibilitiesCommunicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
• Assist in examinations, school events, assemblies, and co-curricular activities
• Perform additional duties assigned by school management from time to time
• QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sanskrit
• B.Ed. (mandatory as per CBSE norms)
• CTET qualification (preferred / as applicable)
• Skills & CompetenciesStrong command over Sanskrit language and grammar
• Ability to simplify concepts and engage students effectively
• Proficiency in ICT tools and smart classroom teaching
• Good classroom management and interpersonal skills
