Job Description
- Logistics Manager1. Transportation & Distribution ManagementEnsure on-time delivery of goods to customers and internal locations
- Optimize transport routes to reduce cost and transit time
- Manage fleet operations / third-party transporters effectively
- 2. Cost Control & Budget ManagementReduce logistics and freight costs without impacting service levels
- Monitor transportation, warehousing, and handling expenses
- Negotiate contracts and rates with logistics vendors
- 3. Inventory & Warehouse CoordinationMaintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for accurate storage and dispatch
- Improve inventory turnover and space utilization
- 4. Vendor & 3PL ManagementSelect, evaluate, and manage transporters and logistics partners
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs
- Resolve vendor-related issues and ensure compliance
- 5. Process Improvement & EfficiencyImplement logistics process improvements and automation
- Reduce delivery lead times and handling errors
- Develop SOPs and ensure adherence
- 6. Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and documentation
- Manage insurance, claims, and loss/damage control
- Minimize logistics-related risks and disruptions
- 7. Reporting & AnalyticsTrack and report logistics KPIs (OTIF, cost per shipment, transit time)
- Prepare MIS reports for management review
- Use data to drive decision-making
- 8. Team Leadership & CoordinationLead, train, and motivate logistics and dispatch teams
- Coordinate with procurement, sales, and production teams
- Ensure smooth cross-functional communication
- 9. Customer Service & SatisfactionEnsure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Handle delivery escalations and customer complaints
- Improve overall customer satisfaction through reliable logistics
