Floor Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Floor Supervisor is the heartbeat of the workshop. Your primary mission is to manage the flow of vehicles from the washing bay to the final inspection, ensuring every bike is serviced to the highest standards, on time, and that the workshop floor operates at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop Workflow Management

• Assign job cards to technicians based on their skill levels and current workload.
• Monitor the "Floor-Time" of each vehicle to ensure promised delivery times are met.
• Identify bottlenecks in the service line (e.g., delays in spare parts or washing) and resolve them immediately.

2. Quality Control & Technical Oversight

• Perform random quality checks and final inspections on serviced vehicles.
• Guide technicians on complex repairs or "repeat complaint" cases to ensure first-time-right (FTR) delivery.
• Ensure all technicians are using the correct tools and following safety protocols.

3. Inventory & Resource Coordination

• Liaise with the Spare Parts department to ensure required components are available before work begins.
• Maintain workshop equipment and schedule preventive maintenance for lifts, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic scanners.

4. Team Leadership & Training

• Conduct morning tool-box meetings to discuss the day’s targets.
• Identify skill gaps in the team and provide on-the-job training or recommend formal training sessions.
• Manage technician attendance and productivity metrics.

Requirements & Qualifications

• EducationDiploma/Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience3–5 years in a two-wheeler service center, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Technical Skills

• Deep understanding of engine diagnostics, fuel injection (FI) systems, and electricals.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership, crisis management, and the ability to work under pressure.

Certifications

• Valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Productivity: Number of vehicles serviced per bay per day.
• Quality: Low "Repeat Job" percentage (aiming for <2%).
• Timeliness: Percentage of vehicles delivered within the promised time.
• Safety: Zero workplace accidents or tool damage.
