Position Title:
B2B Insurance Sales Executive / Relationship Manager – Institutional Business
Location:
Kochi
Reports To:
Sales Manager / Regional Head
Role Summary
The B2B Insurance Sales Executive will be responsible for generating institutional insurance business by visiting and developing relationships with educational institutions, commercial establishments, government organizations, and other corporate entities. The role involves identifying insurance needs, presenting suitable insurance solutions, negotiating terms, and closing deals to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify and approach potential institutional clients including:
- Schools and Colleges
- Universities and Educational Trusts
- Hospitals and Healthcare Institutions
- Commercial Establishments
- SMEs and Corporates
- Government Organizations and PSUs
- Conduct regular field visits to generate leads and build strong relationships.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.
2. Insurance Solution Selling
- Understand client requirements and risk exposure.
- Recommend appropriate insurance solutions such as:
- Group Health Insurance
- Group Personal Accident
- Fire & Property Insurance
- Liability Insurance
- Workmen Compensation
- Marine Insurance
- Employee Benefit Policies
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and presentations.
3. Relationship Management
- Maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers (Principals, HR Heads, Admin Heads, Trustees, CFOs, etc.).
- Provide post-sales service support and policy renewal follow-up.
- Ensure high client retention and repeat business.
4. Revenue & Target Achievement
- Achieve assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Track and report daily sales activities.
- Ensure timely premium collection and documentation.
5. Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends.
- Identify new institutional segments for business expansion.
- Provide feedback to management on product positioning and pricing.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
- Number of institutional visits per week/month
- New institutional accounts acquired
- Gross Written Premium (GWP) generated
- Renewal retention ratio
- Conversion ratio of proposals submitted
- Client satisfaction and relationship retention
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred but not mandatory)
- Prior experience in B2B sales (Insurance/Banking/Financial Services preferred)
- Strong networking and communication skills
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Self-motivated and target-oriented
