Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Design Draftsman to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing precise and comprehensive HVAC drawings and documentation, collaborating closely with our design engineers and project managers. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed HVAC system layouts, including ducting, piping, equipment placement, and schematics, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Develop concept drawings, tender drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings according to project specifications and industry standards.

Collaborate with HVAC engineers to translate design concepts into accurate and efficient drawings.

Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant national and international building codes (e.g., NBC, ASHRAE, ISHRAE) and company drafting standards.

Perform basic calculations for duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection as guided by engineers.

Coordinate with other MEP disciplines (electrical, plumbing, firefighting) to ensure proper integration and clash avoidance in designs.

Assist in the preparation of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs from drawings.

Maintain and organize project documentation and drawing revisions effectively.

Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress, challenges, and solutions.

Conduct site visits as needed to gather information or verify existing conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.

2-5 years of proven experience as an HVAC Design Draftsman/Draughtsman, preferably within an MEP consultancy or HVAC contracting firm.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.

Strong working knowledge of Revit is highly preferred (BIM experience is a significant advantage).

Solid understanding of HVAC system components (AHUs, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, ventilation, exhaust systems, etc.).

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and other engineering drawings.

Excellent technical drawing skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

Familiarity with heat load calculation concepts and associated software (e.g., Carrier HAP) will be a plus.

Good communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Problem-solving attitude and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred (but not mandatory):

Experience with specific software like SolidWorks or other 3D modeling tools.

Knowledge of green building concepts and energy-efficient design.
