Key responsibilities of a picker packer

• Picking orders: Locating and gathering specific products from warehouse shelves based on customer orders or electronic scanners.
• Quality control: Inspecting items for damage and verifying that the correct quantity and products are selected before packing.
• Packing and labeling: Securely packaging items to prevent damage during transit, using appropriate materials, and correctly labeling each box for shipment.
• Inventory management: Maintaining accurate inventory records, restocking shelves, and assisting with stock audits.
• Shipping preparation: Preparing orders for dispatch, which can include preparing shipping documents, loading items onto trucks or conveyor systems, and arranging them for pickup.
• Warehouse maintenance: Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe by following all safety guidelines and protocols.
• Equipment operation: Using equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, or automated systems to move goods within the warehouse. 

Checker Core responsibilities:

• Incoming shipments: Receive and inspect incoming materials, verify quantities against purchase orders or packing lists, and report any discrepancies.
• Outgoing orders: Inspect completed orders to ensure the correct products and quantities are prepared for shipping. Check that pallets are securely built and stabilized for transport.
• Quality control: Visually inspect items for damage or defects and segregate any goods that do not meet quality specifications.
• Documentation: Accurately record all inspections, discrepancies, and counts. Update inventory records and maintain reports on stock levels.
• Discrepancy resolution: Investigate and document any errors or mismatches found between physical inventory and records. Take corrective action to fix the issues before a shipment leaves or is finalized.
• Warehouse tasks: May also involve general warehouse duties like moving materials, operating equipment (e.g., forklifts), and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. 

Checker Key skills and qualifications

• Attention to detail: A high level of detail is essential for accurately verifying counts and products.
• Problem-solving: The ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions is crucial.
• Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills are needed for reporting issues and working with other team members.
• Computer proficiency: Experience using warehouse management or other inventory systems is often required.
• Physical stamina: The job may require significant standing, lifting, and physical activity.
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum requirement.
