Senior Structural Engineer for Hydel Design

• Plan, co-ordinate, manage & monitor the engineering designs and drawings related to Hydropower projects components such as Powerhouse, Intake & Outlet Structures, Water Tunnels, etc.
• Design of powerhouse structures, involving turbine foundations, substructure, superstructure, Control Block and Gantry Beam.
• Lead design review including interfaces with Electromechanical Contractor.
• Preparing Design Calculations taking into account the different construction stages of Powerhouse.
• Responsible for producing a compliant, constructible design in accordance with requirements of Client, Operation, Maintenance and Construction.
• Making recommendations, identify alternative solutions and optimization opportunities that could impact the design and site operations, based on the strategy determined.
• Preparation of the monthly activity reports.
• Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR), calculation notes, GA and RC detailing drawings.
• Responsible for the relevant multi-disciplinary engineering coordination.
• Ensure fluid communication between the project management team, design team, construction team and the various internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong liaison with Clients/PMC and actively responds to technical queries to ensure timely approval.
• Coordination with the designer/ Consultant, monitoring the design progress and ensure the timely delivery of design documents & drawings.
• Liaison with the project site team to agree on engineering solutions for further design development.
• Participate in project review meetings and project milestone meetings.
• Participate & lead tender preparation within defined deadlines, understanding customer requirements, identifying risks and presenting work to the higher management.
• Continuous review and improvement of the overall program strategy.
• Ensure that the design produced follow appropriate engineering processes and in line with the Clients' Core Values and in accordance with their Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedure.
• Actively supervising the engineering tasks; providing guidance & mentoring to the team and nurturing their talent.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
