Commercial & Investment Banking - Research & Analytics - Banking – Leveraged Finance Analyst / Associate – GIFT City
Join the Centralized Research Group (CRG) GIFT City Team in Gandhinagar that supports J.P. Morgan’s global Commercial and Investment Banking business across the globe.
The role involves financial analysis, financial modeling, credit analysis and working on deal executions and closely liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Further responsibilities include preparing pitch books and marketing materials for client meetings - working on market analysis, financial modelling / analysis, and other supporting materials.
The Centralized Research Group (CRG) is part of CIB R&A covering Banking globally. It works closely with the firm’s Investment Banking (IB), Commercial Banking (CB) and Global Corporate Banking (GCB) teams offering customized financial solutions across Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity / Debt capital raising, Credit, Treasury, Cash Management, Trade, and Markets, among others.
Job Summary:
You will be joining as a part of the Leveraged Finance Team of CRG, part of CIB R&A covering Banking globally.
As the top-tier corporate debt house, J.P. Morgan holds commanding leadership positions in Leveraged Finance.
As an Investment Banking Analyst / Associate within Leveraged Finance at GIFT City, you will work as part of a team on debut financings, acquisition financings and leveraged buy-outs, refinancings as well as liability management assignments, serving corporate clients and financial sponsor clients. You will work closely with senior bankers across product and industry groups, as well as client firms, to ensure seamless executions.
You’ll synthesize news, financial reports and company information to prepare pitch materials, updates and client deliverables.
Additionally, you will research key trends about companies and industries to find new prospects and form views for discussion with clients.
Job Responsibilities:
You’ll make an impact by
- Collaborate closely with the Leveraged Finance team in London to support deal execution and client engagement
- Execute end-to-end client transactions, ensuring seamless delivery and high-quality outcomes
- Synthesize news, financial reports, and company information to prepare client updates and internal reports
- Research key trends in companies and industries to identify new prospects and inform internal strategy
- Perform financial modeling and financial statement analysis to assess business performance and transaction feasibility
- Determine cash flow and asset-based loan capacity across a wide range of business models
- Perform credit analysis and prepare detailed credit memos / approval packages for internal review
- Prepare pitch materials and offering documents for loans, including information memorandums, rating presentations, roadshow materials, and lender presentations
- Prepare customized term sheets
- Conduct extensive due diligence, including company, industry, and product research
- Participate in client and investor meetings, presenting materials and supporting relationship management
- Coordinate communication across numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely execution
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Excellent academic record
- 2-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Credit Risk, Big Four experience or related field
- CA or MBA qualification
- Self-starter with a proven track record
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and help develop innovative client solutions
- Advanced user of MS Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Close attention to detail and ability to work at very high standards of precision
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized and able to efficiently manage projects independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and meet time sensitive deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills; comfortable presenting to client senior management, investors and senior members of the firm
- Ensure the highest ethical standards and regulatory compliance within the firm
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Leveraged Finance experience is a plus
- Pursuing / completed additional financial certifications such as CFA, FRM
- Client-facing prior experience is a plus
