Job Description

OptiStruX Consulting Engineers LLP is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Draughtsman (Structural) to join our growing structural design team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in preparing detailed structural drawings for RCC and steel structures, with hands-on experience in reinforcement detailing and coordination with design engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings for structural projects including:
• RCC framing plans, sections, and details
• Steel structure fabrication and erection drawings
• Develop reinforcement detailing drawings for beams, slabs, columns, footings, staircases, retaining walls, etc.
• Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) in accordance with design drawings and IS codes
• Assist in preparation and understanding of BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and quantity take-offs
• Modify and update drawings based on design revisions and client/authority comments
• Coordinate with structural engineers to ensure drawings reflect design intent and site requirements
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant Indian Standards (IS Codes) and project specifications
• Maintain proper drawing documentation, version control, and CAD standards
• Support multidisciplinary coordination with architects and other consultants
• Assist during construction stages by providing clarifications and revised drawings when required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (mandatory)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD 3D and Revit (desirable)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a structural consultancy environment
• Proven experience working on RCC and steel structural projects
• Strong knowledge of:
• Structural detailing practices
• Bar Bending Schedules (BBS)
• Basic quantity estimation and BOQ concepts
• Understanding of construction practices and sequencing
• Familiarity with Indian Standard codes related to structural detailing
• Good drafting speed with high accuracy and attention to detail
