Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Layup & LaminationPerform wet layup and/or pre-preg layup of Carbon Fibre and Glass Fibre components
- Follow layup schedules, ply orientation, and resin ratios as per drawings and SOPs
- Ensure consistent fibre placement and defect-free lamination
- 2. Vacuum BaggingExecute complete vacuum bagging processes including breather, peel ply, and bag sealing
- Achieve high fibre-to-resin ratios and void-free parts
- Monitor vacuum integrity throughout cure cycles
- 3. Mould Preparation & MaintenancePrepare moulds through polishing, waxing, and release agent application
- Inspect and maintain mould condition to ensure surface finish and dimensional accuracy
- Assist in basic mould repair and upkeep
- 4. Curing & Post-ProcessingSupport room-temperature or oven curing as required
- Perform trimming, sanding, drilling, and finishing of cured composite parts
- Maintain tight tolerances for downstream assembly
- 5. Assembly & BondingBond structural components such as ribs, spars, skins, and fuselage halves
- Use structural adhesives (epoxy systems) as per process specifications
- Ensure proper fixturing, alignment, and cure control during assembly
- 6. Quality & SafetyConduct visual inspections for defects such as voids, delamination, dry fibres
- Follow PPE, chemical handling, and shopfloor safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and discipline in composite work areas
- Must-Have SkillsHands-on experience with epoxy resin systems
- Experience working with carbon fibre and glass fibre fabrics
- (Unidirectional, Twill, Forged Carbon)
- Ability to read technical drawings and layup schedules
- Skilled use of workshop tools (Dremel, sanders, drills) with precision and safety
- High attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Bonus Skills (Differentiators)Experience in painting and surface finishing of aerospace or UAV parts
- Familiarity with lightweight structural optimisation
- Exposure to aerospace-grade composite quality standards
- Qualifications & ExperienceITI / Diploma / equivalent hands-on training preferred
- 2–6 years of experience in composites, aerospace, UAV, automotive, or marine industries
- Strong preference for hands-on manufacturing experience over theory
