Job Title: Furniture Production & Quality Control Manager

Objective :

Oversee the entire furniture production process to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality furniture. Ensure all furniture pieces meet the company’s standards for design, durability, finish, and functionality before reaching clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning & Coordination : Develop and execute production schedules based on orders, design deadlines, and inventory. Allocate tasks and manage daily operations of the production floor. Coordinate between design, procurement, QC, and dispatch teams.

• Resource Management : Ensure optimal manpower planning and machine utilization. Monitor raw material availability and work with procurement to prevent bottlenecks. Manage equipment maintenance and downtime reduction.

• Process Optimization : Streamline production workflows to reduce time and cost without compromising on design integrity. Implement Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen techniques where applicable. Reduce material wastage through improved planning and training.

• Team Leadership & Supervision : Lead production staff, conduct regular briefings, assign responsibilities. Supervise skilled workers, artisans, and machine operators. Train workers on best practices and new technologies or methods.

• Reporting & Documentation : Maintain records of production output, efficiency, and delays. Submit weekly/monthly reports to management. Monitor KPIs like production yield, rejection rates, and downtime.

• Quality Planning & Standardization : Define quality benchmarks for each product category (woodwork, joinery, upholstery, finishes, etc.). Work closely with design and production teams to align on quality expectations. Create checklists and SOPs for quality assurance at every stage.

• Inspection & Testing : Inspect raw materials (wood, hardware, upholstery fabric) for compliance with specs. Conduct in-process checks at multiple stages: cutting, assembly, finishing, polishing, upholstery. Final inspection before dispatch to ensure zero-defect delivery.

• Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis : Identify recurring defects and work with production to resolve them. Document defects, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor rejection and rework rates; strive to reduce both.

• Compliance & Safety : Ensure products comply with internal and external safety/regulatory standards. Maintain documentation for audits, including client audits and ISO or CE compliance (if applicable).

• Team Training & Development : Train QC inspectors and production staff on quality standards. Regularly update the team on new material behaviors, adhesives, or finishes affecting quality.

• Reporting & Analysis : Maintain quality records and reports on product performance and client feedback. Track KPIs like First Pass Yield, Cost of Quality, Return/Repair Rates. Use data to drive continuous quality improvement.
