Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesMachine OperationsOperate conventional lathe machines (and CNC lathe if applicable) to perform turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, and knurling operations.
- Set up workpieces, tools, and fixtures according to engineering drawings.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
- Quality ControlRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job cards.
- Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
- Identify defects and take corrective actions.
- Maintenance & SafetyPerform routine machine checks, lubrication, and minor maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of machine and work area (5S compliance).
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE usage, and shop-floor discipline.
- Report machine breakdowns or abnormalities immediately.
- Production & DocumentationMeet daily production targets without compromising quality.
- Maintain production logs, inspection records, and tool usage records.
- Coordinate with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of lathe machine operations
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Knowledge of cutting tools and materials
- Precision measurement skills
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy and machining processes
- Discipline, attention to detail, and teamwork
