Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a retail store, ensuring profitability and operational efficiency. This role involves leading and motivating a team, maintaining exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and implementing sales and marketing strategies to meet or exceed store goals. 

Key responsibilities

• Leadership and staff management:
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate store employees.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment and provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Operations and administration:
• Oversee all day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures and cash handling.
• Manage store budgets and ensure financial records are maintained accurately.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and health and safety standards.
• Handle administrative duties and prepare regular performance reports.
• Sales and customer service:
• Drive sales performance and achieve all sales targets and KPIs.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase store traffic and sales.
• Inventory and merchandising:
• Manage inventory levels, conduct stock takes, and ensure timely replenishment of merchandise.
• Ensure all visual merchandising and display standards are met according to brand guidelines.
• Monitor and control inventory loss and shrinkage. 

Qualifications and skills

• Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of sales, inventory control, and visual merchandising principles.
• Familiarity with financial planning and P&L statements.
• Ability to analyze sales data and implement effective strategies.
