Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth for solar projects including rooftop, C&I, and ground-mounted solar power plants. The role includes lead generation, client acquisition, proposal coordination, negotiations, and project closure.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentGenerate new business leads for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
  • Identify potential clients such as factories, commercial buildings, institutions, and developers.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets (kW/MW and revenue).
  • Client Relationship ManagementConduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and channel partners.
  • Handle client queries and provide techno-commercial solutions.
  • Proposal & Tender HandlingCoordinate with technical team for techno-commercial proposals and BOQs.
  • Prepare and submit bids for private and government solar tenders.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions.
  • Internal CoordinationWork closely with design, procurement, and execution teams for smooth project handover.
  • Support net metering, DISCOM documentation, and approvals.
  • Ensure accuracy of project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Order Closure & Payment Follow-upClose orders and finalize PO/LOI/contracts.
  • Support finance team for milestone-based payment follow-ups.
  • Skills & CompetenciesGood knowledge of solar PV systems (On-Grid, Off-Grid, Hybrid).
  • Understanding of CAPEX & RESCO / OPEX solar models.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Self-driven with strong market networking ability.
