Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding the distribution network, and strengthening channel relationships for Polycab’s range of wires, cables, and electrical products. The role focuses on developing business through OEMs, Contractors, Builders & Architects while ensuring alignment with company objectives and market expansion plans.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for Polycab products in the assigned territory.

Distribution Expansion: Develop and manage networks of OEMs, Contractors, Builders & Architects.

Market Development: Conduct market mapping, competitor analysis, and demand forecasting to identify growth opportunities.

Promotional Activities: Plan and execute local promotional campaigns, product demos, trade meets, and brand visibility initiatives.

Collections & Credit Control: Ensure timely payment collection and adherence to company credit policies.

Coordination with Internal Teams: Work closely with supply chain, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth operations and customer service.

Reporting & MIS: Prepare and submit weekly/monthly sales reports, market feedback, and competitor intelligence.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution business, preferably in wires, cables, or electrical goods.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple channel partners effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting.


Qualification & Experience


Education: Graduate in Electrical Engineering (Optional).

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in channel/distribution sales in the electrical industry.

Experience with brands like Polycab, Finolex, Havells, RR Kabel, Anchor, or KEI will be an added advantage.
