Fabrication Fitter

1. Main Responsibilities·     

 Reading engineering drawings / blueprints to understand how parts should be assembled.

·      Measuring and marking metal pieces using tools like vernier calipers, tape, and gauges.

·      Cutting,shaping, and fitting metal components such as pipes, plates, beams, and frames.

·      Assembling parts using bolts, rivets, or welding support.

·      Checking alignment and dimensions to ensure proper fit.

·      Grinding,drilling, and finishing metal surfaces.

·      Inspecting fabricated structures for accuracy and quality.

2. Common Tools Used·      Measuring tools: Vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape

·      Cutting tools: Gas cutter, grinder, hacksaw

·      Drilling machines

·      Welding machines (support work with welders)

·      Hand tools: Spanners, hammers, files, clamps

3. Skills Required·  

    Ability to read mechanical drawings

Metal fabrication knowledge

·      Measurement and precision skills

·      Basic welding and machining understanding

Physical strength and good hand-eye coordination
