Job Description
A Modern Trade Sales Manager drives revenue growth by managing relationships with key retail accounts (supermarkets, hypermarkets, retail chains), implementing sales strategies, and ensuring product availability. Key responsibilities include achieving sales targets, managing promotions, optimizing shelf space, and leading teams to boost brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key retail partners and buyers.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets (KPIs) and increase market share.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor in-store execution, ensuring optimal product placement, shelf space, and stock availability.
- Promotional Planning: Coordinate with marketing teams to design and execute in-store promotions and campaigns.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage the sales and merchandising team.
- Analytics & Reporting: Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to provide insights and accurate forecasts to management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Typically 5-9 years of experience in sales, with specific experience in Modern Trade (FMCG) preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical abilities, relationship management, and proficiency in MS Excel and CRM software.
- Abilities: Proven track record of hitting sales targets and managing large accounts.
Typical Activities:
- Conducting regular store visits to assess performance.
- Resolving issues related to supply chain and logistics.
- Managing trade promotions and joint business plans.
