Job Title: Jr. Technician
Location: Gurgaon
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
The Jr. Technician supports the technical team by performing maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and machinery.
This role includes assisting in troubleshooting, conducting routine inspections, and learning to perform repairs. Under the supervision of senior technicians, the Jr. Technician gains the experience needed to develop technical skills and advance within the maintenance or repair department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Routine Maintenance and Inspections
Perform routine inspections on equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Conduct minor repairs or adjustments as needed, following standard operating procedures.
Report any major issues or potential hazards to senior technicians or supervisors.
2. Assistance with Repairs
Support senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment, systems, and machinery.
Handle basic repair tasks, including replacing parts, lubricating machinery, and cleaning components.
Follow all instructions and safety guidelines provided by senior staff during repair activities.
3. Troubleshooting Support
Assist in identifying issues and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
Use basic diagnostic tools and equipment under the supervision of senior technicians.
Document issues, maintenance activities, and repair actions accurately.
4. Preventive Maintenance
Help perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the maintenance schedule.
Assist in inspecting and testing equipment to prevent breakdowns and prolong equipment lifespan.
Follow preventive maintenance checklists and instructions provided by senior technicians.
5. Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols during maintenance and repair tasks.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety concerns to supervisors.
Follow instructions carefully to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
6. Inventory and Tool Management
Assist in tracking tools and maintenance supplies, ensuring they are used responsibly and kept in good condition.
Inform senior technicians of low stock levels or the need for replacement parts.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure tools are returned to their designated places.
7. Learning and Skill Development
Participate in on-the-job training and attend workshops to improve technical skills.
Observe senior technicians and ask questions to deepen knowledge of repair techniques and equipment handling.
Stay updated on company procedures and industry practices for maintenance and repair.
8. Documentation and Reporting
Accurately document maintenance tasks, repairs completed, and parts used.
Report any completed tasks or issues encountered to senior technicians or supervisors.
Maintain records of work performed and ensure documentation aligns with company requirements.
9. Emergency Assistance
Respond to emergency repair requests as directed by senior technicians or supervisors.
Provide support in minimizing downtime and restoring equipment to full functionality during urgent situations.
Assist with troubleshooting during emergency repairs, following all safety procedures.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate in a relevant field (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC) is preferred.
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or technical systems.
Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work under supervision.
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is advantageous.
Additional Skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in repair tasks.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and ask questions.
Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
