Job Description

Job Summary


The Legal Executive will be responsible for managing various legal and administrative functions within the office, including drafting legal documents, organising legal documentation, and coordinating with external legal counsel. The role demands a proactive and organised professional who can handle all office-related legal work effectively and assist in managing legal compliance, meetings, and briefings with lawyers.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Legal Drafting and Documentation
  2. Draft, review, and proofread contracts, agreements, letters, and other legal documents.
  3. Ensure all documents are accurate, comply with legal standards, and are properly formatted for approval and filing.
  4. Maintain and update templates for standard contracts and other legal documentation.
  5. Coordination and Communication with Legal Counsel
  6. Schedule, prepare for, and attend meetings with external lawyers; provide briefings on case statuses and office requirements.
  7. Act as a liaison between the company and legal counsel to ensure efficient communication and follow-ups on legal matters.
  8. Coordinate documentation and case details to prepare external counsel for cases or meetings.
  9. Legal Research and Compliance
  10. Conduct preliminary legal research to support case preparation and assist in making informed decisions on legal matters.
  11. Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and provide updates to management as necessary.
  12. Office Administration and Record-Keeping
  13. Maintain a comprehensive filing system for all legal documents, ensuring easy retrieval and confidentiality.
  14. Handle daily office administrative tasks, such as managing correspondence, updating legal databases, and maintaining case calendars.
  15. Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements by organizing and keeping accurate records.
  16. Support in Legal Projects and Case Management
  17. Assist in managing legal projects, from inception to closure, to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  18. Prepare summaries and reports on ongoing cases and projects for internal stakeholders.


Qualifications and Skills


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent command of English.
  3. Knowledge of legal terminology, contract structure, and compliance requirements.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with precision and efficiency.
  6. High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information.
