Production Supervisor

Job TitleProduction Planner (Control Tower) – Manufacturing

Role PurposeTo ensure on-time dispatch by creating and driving the weekly + daily production plan, ensuring material readiness, and controlling priorities/WIP across multiple production lines.

1. Key Responsibilities (Role Description)Weekly + Daily Production Planning

• Prepare weekly plan from confirmed orders + targets
• Break into daily line-wise plan (targets, sequence, priority)
• Freeze priorities and manage changes via approval process

1. Material Readiness & Coordination with Purchase/Store

• Create material requirement list for next 7–14 days (BOM-based)
• Generate daily shortage list with due dates and follow-up owners
• Coordinate with store for stock accuracy and consumption tracking

1. Production Tracking (Plan vs Actual)

• Collect end-of-shift output from each line supervisor
• Update plan vs actual dashboard and highlight variances
• Identify root causes (material/machine/manpower/quality) and escalate

1. WIP & Priority Control

• Prevent starting jobs without material readiness
• Control WIP to avoid half-finished work and congestion
• Allocate shared resources time slots (powder coating/printing/batch processes)

1. Daily Production Huddle Management

• Run a 15-minute daily huddle with supervisors/store/QC/dispatch
• Publish “Today Plan” + “Dispatch Commit List” every morning

Reporting ToOperations Head / Plant Head (or Owner until head is hired)

• Success Metrics (KPIs)OTIF Dispatch % (On-time in-full)
• Plan Adherence % (daily/weekly)
• Material Stock-outs count (per week)
• WIP days (target reduction)
• Expedite purchases / emergency shortages (target reduction)
• Schedule stability (number of priority changes)
