📌 Job Summary

The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the parts department in an automotive dealership or service center. This includes inventory management, ordering, storage, sales, staff supervision, vendor coordination, and ensuring excellent customer service while maximizing profitability.


🔧 Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Inventory Management



Maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer and workshop demand.



Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving parts.



Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.



Prevent stock obsolescence and minimize shrinkage.



2️⃣ Procurement & Vendor Management



Source parts from authorized vendors and manufacturers.



Negotiate pricing, discounts, and delivery terms.



Track and manage supplier performance.



Ensure timely ordering of genuine and aftermarket parts.



3️⃣ Sales & Revenue Generation



Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.



Promote parts sales to retail customers and workshop.



Implement upselling and cross-selling strategies.



Monitor parts margins and profitability.



4️⃣ Team Management



Supervise parts advisors, storekeepers, and support staff.



Provide training and performance evaluations.



Maintain discipline and teamwork within the department.



5️⃣ Customer Service



Ensure prompt and accurate parts supply.



Handle customer complaints professionally.



Maintain strong relationships with workshop technicians and retail clients.



6️⃣ Reporting & Compliance



Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.



Ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards.



Maintain accurate documentation and billing records.

🎓 Qualifications & Requirements

Education:



Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration / Automobile Engineering / Supply Chain Management (preferred)



Experience:



3–8 years of experience in automotive parts management



Experience in dealership operations preferred



Skills:



Strong inventory control knowledge



ERP/DMS system proficiency



Negotiation & vendor management skills



Leadership and team management



Analytical and reporting skills



Excellent communication skills

Automotive brands (e.g., passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers)



Dealer Management Systems (DMS)



Spare parts catalog systems



Warranty parts processing
