Technician Electronics

Overview:

The Technician – Electronics will be responsible for supporting electronic design, prototyping, assembly, and testing activities. The role involves hands-on work with electronic components, circuit design, and hardware integration to support engineering and project requirements

Key Responsibilities

·        Assemble and wire electronic prototypes, sub-assemblies and test setups.

·        Populate, solder and rework PCBs (through-hole and SMD).

·        Inspect assembled boards and systems for workmanship, correctness and quality.

·        Perform electrical testing, functional verification and basic debugging of prototypes.

·        Operate and maintain electronic lab equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies and logic analysers.

·        Assist in troubleshooting circuit issues and failures.

·        Perform cable harnessing, connector crimping, wire routing and labelling.

·        Maintain inventory of components, tools, consumables and spare parts.

·        Follow ESD, electrical safety and lab safety procedures.

·        Maintain cleanliness, organization within the lab/workshop.

Required Qualifications & Skills

·        Diploma / ITI / Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or a related field.

·        2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electronics prototyping / manufacturing

·        Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and PCB layouts.

·        Hands-on experience with soldering (through-hole and SMD), rework and cable assembly.

·        Familiarity with electronic components, basic analog and digital circuits.

·        Experience using instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies.

·        Strong attention to detail and quality with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

·        Effective communication with engineers and designers.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

·        Experience with prototyping and assembly of electro-mechanical systems

·        Basic understanding of firmware flashing, programming etc.

·        Experience working in R&D labs, startups or product development environments.
