What would you do? The selected persons should be willing to perform such projects / tasks which provides them an overview of the work in the General Accounting services area for retail business. Identified individuals should understand the client business, technology, process details and procedures. This role consist of recording, monitoring and reporting Asset Acquisition / Creation, Transfer/ Retirement/ Impairment, Depreciation and completing all month end activities including Reconciliations. You will be responsible for monitoring projects in Fixed assets Capital WIP account and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment at period close. You will process requests for transfer / retirement / disposal of fixed assets, and support documentation of asset inventory checks. You will execute the monthly depreciation run and necessary entries. You will also complete all month end activities, including reconciliations and reporting as required. You will support the company goals by focusing on personal accountability, customer service and work efficiency. Resource will also be responsible for managing delivery teams.
What are we looking for? • Commerce Graduate/Chartered Accountant/ICWA/CS with 6 - 7 years of experience in Fixed Assets Accounting • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be well organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to perform in a fast-paced changing environment • Experience working with accounting applications preferred; PDI, AS400, JDE, SAP, Recon Net, Blackline, Service-now • Fair understanding and experience of executing / leading process transformation actions •• Bachelor’s / Master degree in accounting • 6+ years of accounting experience in Fixed Assets • Must be computer literate in MS Excel and Access. • Ability to organize and prioritize detailed information. • Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively work with other departments. • Experience working with ERP applications is a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities: In this role, you are required to fulfil below responsibilities: - • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the Fixed Asset System (FAS) • Track the compilation of projects costs in Purchase Order/Project Accounting (POPA) system into the FAS system when projects have been completed • Prepare project entries as needed to ensure correct recording of invoices. • Assist with the set-up of assets. • Reconcile the account balances in FAS subsidiary ledger to the Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E) General Ledger accounts • Complete depreciation and economic penalty analysis on asset additions • Run depreciation calculation in FAS for all fixed assets and prepare journal entries • Support Tax Department with fixed asset data requests. • Responsible for ensuring store asset audits are performed every 5 years. • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends. • Documents financial transactions by entering account information, while substantiating these transactions by auditing documents when needed • Ensures compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate controls and policies. • Maintains financial security by ensuring that internal controls and SOX controls are being followed • Adhere to Company and department policies and procedures • Promptly and effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders • Assisting Record to Report Manager in any other RTR/FA related tasks and projects • Ability to comprehend basic statistics and terms involved in the day-to-day business and using the same during process discussions. • Identification of process improvement / lean ideas to avoid measurable, repeatable, predictable and transaction processing efforts • Constantly be on the lookout for ways to enhance value for your respective stakeholders/clients • Ensure that the SLAs and Operations metrics are met • Guide, support, and work with other team leaders & team members • Prepare management reports for clients and internal management • Share feedbacks and execute performance management actions • Execution of backup planning for all service delivery actions • Facilitate quality checks for the work performed by the team members • Participation in performance review/governance discussions with client • Managing small / mid size teams (5-15 FTE)
