Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, Payments
Role Overview:
The Payments role in Accounts Payable is responsible for executing vendor payments accurately and timely in accordance with company policies, approval hierarchies, and banking controls. The position involves preparing payment proposals, performing validations, releasing payments in SAP, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
Responsibilities
Payment Execution & Processing
Prepare and review payment proposals in SAP ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Execute vendor payments through multiple modes (ACH, wire, cheque, SEPA etc.) based on business and country requirements.
Validate and process urgent / manual payments in SAP as per approval workflows.
Ensure all payments are approved in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA) and control framework.
Upload and transmit payment files to banking portals and confirm successful execution.
Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform bank-to-ERP reconciliations and investigate unmatched items.
Review open vendor items and ensure clearing post-payment runs.
Generate and circulate daily / weekly payment reports to internal stakeholders.
Maintain payment logs, approvals, and evidence for audit purposes.
Compliance & Controls
Adhere to SOX, internal control, and audit requirements for payment authorization and segregation of duties.
Verify vendor banking details against master data to prevent fraud.
Support bank account reconciliations and treasury coordination for cash forecasting.
Comply with country-specific payment regulations (e.g., OFAC, RBI, AML, sanctions lists).
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Relevant Payment Experience
Knowledge of SAP ECC or S4 Hana
Ability to communicate effectively
Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Shared service centre experience in a multinational environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Passion to understand processes & improve efficiencies
Focus on problem resolution to eliminate reoccurrence.
