The person will work on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. The person will be responsible for software development activities of KPMG, India. Part of the development team, he/she will work on the full life cycle of the process, develop code and unit testing. He/she will work closely with Technical Architect, Business Analyst, user interaction designers, and other software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones. Additionally, the person will ensure that all development practices are in compliance with KPMG’s best practices policies and procedures. This role requires quick ramp up on new technologies whenever required.

Role - Associate Director – Cloud & Data Engineering

Role Summary
The Associate Director – Cloud & Data Engineering will lead end-to-end data engineering, cloud modernization, and enterprise data architecture programs for large global clients. The role requires deep expertise in designing scalable cloud-native solutions, managing complex data ecosystems, and driving transformation initiatives across automotive and manufacturing environments. You will also support proposal development, solutioning for RFPs, and practice growth initiatives.
Technical Leadership
• Architect and deliver enterprise-grade cloud data platforms on AWS and Databricks.
• Lead development of data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, streaming data ingestion, and real-time analytics.
• Design and implement data models for time-series, telematics, and IoT-driven datasets.
• Drive cloud migration and modernization strategies for legacy enterprise applications.
• Create scalable and secure data architectures, including ingestion, storage, transformation, consumption, and governance layers.
• Oversee implementation of data quality frameworks, metadata management, and data governance processes.
Delivery & Project Management
• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across cloud, data, and analytics.
• Own technical delivery for large transformation programs, ensuring alignment to timelines, scalability, and enterprise standards.
• Conduct architecture reviews, performance optimization, and best-practice implementation.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders, product owners, and enterprise architects.
Client Engagement & Solutioning
• Partner with clients to define cloud and data strategies aligned to business priorities.
• Lead proposal creation, solution estimation, and RFP/RFI responses.
• Present architectural roadmaps, solution options, and ROI-driven recommendations to CXO-level stakeholders.
• Support pre-sales, account growth, and practice development initiatives.
Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, ECS/EKS).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake.
• Proficiency in data pipeline engineering, Python/Scala, and SQL.
• Experience with time-series data, IoT/telematics ingestion, and real-time processing.
• Experience with enterprise data architecture, modernization, and migration frameworks.
• Understanding of data governance, lineage, cataloguing, and MDM.
Industry Competencies
• Automotive or manufacturing data environments — telematics, connected vehicle data, plant operations, predictive maintenance, etc.
Soft Skills
• Strong communication, executive presence, stakeholder management, team leadership.
• Ability to lead complex discussions and influence decision-making in matrix environments.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving orientation, and thought leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
