Consultant
Roles & responsibilities :
Project Management
•Address the complex research needs for business development, updates on market development, and client engagements. Conceive, design and execute secondary research on:oCompany: its scope of business activity and business model, segments, revenue model, strategy, issues and challenges, M&A history, competitive positioning, organization structure, key management, recent developments, SWOT, etc.oMarket and competition: industry value chain, size and growth outlook, trends and drivers, challenges, competitive landscape, Porter’s / PESTLE analysis, etc.oFinancials: broad analysis of income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, ratios, segment performance, etc.oCompetitors: comparative performance of companies on financial and operational KPIs, relative strengths and weaknesses, etc.•Conduct secondary research on the AM/PE sector, covering key firms, sector trends, key strategic framework, and market developments•Track macro and capital‑markets trends to contextualize AM/PE industry developments for internal and client discussions•Drive the analysis of the above to draw key insights; articulate findings through visually appealing / appropriate frameworks and in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct business English (both written and verbal)•Team Management
•Guide Associate Consultants (ACon) and Business Associates (BA) across each stage of projects – from communicating client requirements, scoping and work allocation, to continuous supervision and review across secondary research, analysis and discussions, story-lining, and preparing deliverables•Ensure highest quality (for self and team members output) and on-time delivery for all the projects•Mentor several counselees at any point in timeRoles & responsibilities
Client / Stakeholder Management
•Engage with the requestors/clients, interpret their requirements, estimate projects’ scope and timeline, and manage communication flow end-to-end independently•Actively build and manage the relationship and interface with international Advisory professionals•Lead in business development meetings/conference callsThis role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
•Postgraduate (MBA / CFA / CA / M.Com. / PG in Economics)
Work experience
•The candidate must have 4-6 years of research experience with a professional services firm / third-party KPO / specialized research houses, or captive/in-house research/strategy/market intelligence division•The candidate must have at least 2-3 years of experience in the AM/PE sector research
Project and Team Management Exposure
•Prior experience in project scoping, effort estimate, project work planning, providing feedback, etc.•End-to-end project delivery – client interaction, information collection, deliverable preparation, quality check and deliveryMandatory skillset
Behavioral / team skills
•Flexibility and willingness to work in a highly demanding and results oriented team environment where priorities can change frequently•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Confidence to form and express independent opinion on relevant areas/developments•High consciousness towards attention to detail; drive and commitment towards delivering high quality service to the KPMG network•Team player; self-driven and ability to work independentlyTechnical skills
•Ability to form and express independent opinion on sectorial developments•Understanding of the Asset Management and Private Equity landscape, including key industry dynamics and valuation and analytical concepts commonly referenced in the sector•Familiarity with market indicators and trends in AM/PE, such as growth patterns, capital flows, and competitive positioning•Experience conducting sector‑level research on leading firms, market themes, and emerging opportunities within AM/PE•Good knowledge of capital market instruments including equity, fixed income, structured products, and alternative investment vehicles•Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills, and sound business / commercial acumen•High problem-solving skills; ability to drive through to an outcome in circumstances of complexity and ambiguity•Strong understanding of finance fundamentals – income statement, balance sheet, financial ratios•Proficient across AM/PE relevant databases (such as PitchBook, Preqin, Capital IQ, Refinitive, etc.), in identifying surrogates, and triangulating data.•Ability to assess technical information to distill key strategic insights and convey these succinctly, clearly and confidently, verbally and in written form•Ability to triangulate investment data, fund performance metrics, and deal information from multiple sources.•Experience in preparing contextualized reports, briefs, thought leaderships, market sizing, competitive assessments and analysisProduce professional, neat and client-ready power point presentations and excel worksheets
